Nice, Again...2013

We are in Nice again, having arrived on January 2, 2013.  Usually the first fun thing to do is the Monte Carlo WRC Rally, but this year the weather was so cold and rainy on that weekend that we weenied out.  So did the Rally, having canceled several stages due to excessive snow.

We did get over to Monaco for the Historic Rally, on what turned out to be a beautiful weekend.

Last night, Carnaval started with the arrival of the King of Five Continents and his Queen:

And today was the first Flower Parade.  There's no one on the float in this picture because last year we learned a nifty secret.  We found the staging area.

Took a stroll over to the port to watch the ferries come and go.  Here's the view from near the "famous" La Reserve restaurant.

At the first of the week, we're on our way to Barcelona for several days of Formula 1 testing at the Circuit de Catalunya.
